چکیده

The short answer to the above question is no, not in general. Although the issues involved remain partially open, the present brief is an attempt to clarify some of the misconceptions and misuses embroiled in the subject of bulk viscosity. Consider the genesis of the query. To close the equations of motion for a continuum fluid, a relation between surface forces and the flow field is needed. A Newtonian fluid is that for which the stress tensor is assumed to be linearly related to the rate-of-strain tensor.§ The constant of proportionality between these two second-order tensors is in general a fourth-rank tensor:

Mathematical modelling of Sisko fluid flow through a stenosed ‎artery

In the present study, the nonlinear model of non-Newtonian blood flow in cosine-shape stenosed elastic artery is numerically examined. The model is carried out for axisymmetric, two-dimensional and fully developed blood flow. The vessel wall is assumed to be have time-dependent radius that is important factor for study of blood flow. The cosine-shape stenosis convert to rigid artery by using a ...

Traveling Wave Solutions of 3D Fractionalized MHD Newtonian Fluid in Porous Medium with Heat Transfer

In the present paper, we get exact solutions of Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) of the fractionalized three-dimensional flow of Newtonian fluid with porous and heat transfer through the traveling wave parameter. The governing equations are produced dependent on established Navier-stokes equations which can be diminished to ordinary differential equation by wave parameter ξ=ax+by+nz+Utα/Γ(α...

Averaging out Inhomogeneous Newtonian Cosmologies: II. Newtonian Cosmology and the Navier-Stokes-Poisson Equations

The basic concepts and equations of Newtonian Cosmology are presented in the form necessary for the derivation and analysis of the averaged Navier-Stokes-Poisson equations. A particular attention is paid to the physical and cosmological hypotheses about the structure of Newtonian universes. The system of the Navier-StokesPoisson equations governing the cosmological dynamics of Newtonian univers...

Study of Pulsatile Non-Newtonian Blood Flow Through Abdominal Aorta and Renal Arteries Incorporating Fluid- Structure Interaction

Background: The interaction between the blood and the vessel wall is of great clinical interest in studying cardiovascular diseases, the major causes of death in developed countries. Objective: To understand the effects of incorporating fluid-structure interaction into the simulation of blood flow through an anatomically realistic model of abdominal aorta and renal arteries reconstructed from CT...

An Investigation of Stokes’ Second Problem for Non-newtonian Fluids

Stokes flow produced by an oscillatory motion of a wall is analyzed in the presence of a nonNewtonian fluid. A total of eight non-Newtonian models are considered. A mass balance approach is introduced to solve the governing equations. The velocity and temperature profiles for these models are obtained and compared to those of Newtonian fluids. For the power law model, correlations for the veloc...
